Travel insurance not always reliable
This is the time to book a holiday and most people are aware of this fact. Holiday booking agents and hotels as well as individual travel planners and holiday parks are now making their best offers known to anyone contemplating a trip abroad. Figures show that most people start to plan their holidays in the first week after Christmas and over half of all people booking a holiday actually book their trip between the festive holidays and the month of February.
Nine percent of all holiday bookers do organize their trips abroad via a booking agent and at least 19 percent of all people booking spend over $1500 per person on average. The next thing to arrange for people booking their holidays is a cancellation and travel insurance. Especially consumers who book their holidays in advance should consider cancellation insurance policies to avoid having to pay for their trip if they are not able to go (for a reason covered by the insurance policy that is). There are several types of insurance policies and people must read the small print on policies before signing up for any type of insurance. The most common claims made are those of damage or theft of luggage and personal belongings and stolen money from hotel rooms or bags in busy tourist areas. Some insurance only pay out damages if the situation took place in a very specific type of environment and if the insured can prove what happened and has witnesses. This type of insurance is basically worthless as proving a claim case in holiday surroundings is often an almost impossible task. It is a fact that people are better off signing up for a type of travel insurance that is not offered and sold to them by their travel booker. Looking for individual travel insurance plans is almost always cheaper. |
