AIG Travel Guard Offers Customizable Travel Cover

AIG Travel Guard has released a new travel insurance plan that can be customized to suit the traveler's needs. It allows clients to pick and choose the coverage particulars that will best meet the type of travel they are undertaking and the type of coverage that they wish to have for their trip. Some of the options that can be chosen, under the My Travel Guard plan, include hospital of choice, adventure travel risks, medical evacuation and baggage coverage. Clients get to pick the limits and the options that they want.

The My Travel Guard basic plan includes cover for trip cancellation, trip interruption, delay of trip, lost baggage, stolen baggage, damaged baggage, delayed baggage, medical expenses and emergency medical transportation. On top of this, travelers get to select any optional upgrades that they want. This can include coverage for additional items or changing the limits on the basic coverage plan. Some of the upgrades include medical expense upgrade and baggage upgrade. Optional extras include coverage for terrorism, renters collision insurance and flight guard insurance.

One other notable extra is the adventure sports activity coverage option. AIG says this is the first adventure sports coverage in the travel insurance industry. For people wanting to go on an adventure sports vacation, they can choose this option, which will provide coverage for activities such as mountain climbing, motor racing, mountaineering, skydiving, hang gliding, bungee jumping, snow skiing, water skiing or operating an aircraft.

CEO of AIG Travel Guard, John Noel, describes My Travel Guard as "made-to-order travel insurance". He says it is an intuitive plan that allows travelers to "select the coverage limits and options they want."
