Medical Travel Insurance
Most medical travel Insurance policies are international policies. Some are offered as a separate package as the European Union and United States have made it mandatory for all travelers to their states to be covered for any medical eventuality. Many domestic travelers go abroad only to learn disturbing facts of their health insurance policy.
Most of the health plans usually do not cover medical expenses incurred abroad.
In case your health plan has a 'floating', which offers health care abroad you are lucky but in most cases the cover is less.
In case you do not have a health care policy then medical travel insurance is an option to be safe.

Pre-existing Conditions is any prior medical documented sickness for which the person has already been treated or received medical advice on. In case travel makes the insured turn worse/require medical attention then the normal medical travel insurance policy will not cover the person. He/she will have to take a pre-existing medical insurance policy which has a clause that the insured must be medically stable
i.e. they should have a look back period (60/90/120 days) during which adjustments or changes in the prescriptions have not taken place. The Insurer will not pay for claims arising from an injury or sickness that is due to the neglect of not informing them or which does not pertain to conditions given.
Exclusions are a part of most insurance policies so please read the policy statement that gives certain conditions to be met for a claim to be made. The list of exclusions will give you exactly what is not covered by the policy.
