Lost Luggage
Lost luggage refers to the phenomenon where the passenger's luggage has failed to reach the destination. According to several sources in US at least one in every two fifty pieces of checked luggage do not reach the correct destination. There are various reasons for losing luggage.
So whether a person is a business traveler or leisure traveler, he should not fail to get lost luggage insurance. This is especially true for those who travel frequently. If a common carrier permanently loses the luggage of the insured, the insurance company will pay out the benefits. Many insurance companies will require acknowledgement from the common carrier and some common carriers themselves make the monetary reimbursement for the loss of luggage. Before going on a trip, the traveler should make a list of items in his baggage and its value.
