Exclusions
Exclusions are those expenses that a travel insurance policy does not cover. This means that these expenses will not be paid by the travel insurance company.
If you use illegal drugs while you are traveling, and as a result have a medical emergency, chances are you will not be covered. Also, expenses relating to pre-existing medical conditions are often not covered. If you are going to be participating in extreme or dangerous activities while traveling, check with your insurance company to see if any injuries you sustain while doing that activity will be covered. These are typical examples of items that are included in exclusions clauses of travel insurance policies. Read over your exclusions carefully before purchasing a travel insurance policy. Make sure that you have the coverage that you need before you pay any money. You do not want to have an accident and be surprised to find out that you are not covered!
