Emergency Benefits
Emergency benefits refer to the benefits you will receive on a travel insurance policy when an emergency occurs.
Often, emergency benefits cover all expenses necessary for sending the insured person to a place where they can receive medical treatment for the injuries sustained during the emergency. Another type of emergency benefit is an emergency reunion benefit. This benefit pays the expenses for a family member to travel to the country where the injured person is being treated. Finally, repatriation benefit covers the cost of returning the body of an insured person who dies while traveling back to their family in their home country. Emergency benefits can be any of these benefits, or a group of them packaged together. Almost all emergency benefits cover evacuation for medical reasons. This is an especially important type of coverage when traveling on a cruise, because proper medical treatment is not always available onboard a cruise ship. More Glossary Terms Explained here |
