Deductible
The deductible on a travel insurance policy is the amount of medical or other costs that the insured must pay before the insurance policy kicks in and starts paying. Depending on the type of insurance purchased, the deductible might be a yearly amount, a per-incident amount, or a lifetime amount for the policy. Most travel insurance falls under either a per-incident deductible or a lifetime amount deductible.
If you are in the market for travel insurance, watch the deductibles carefully. You want to make sure that when you add up the cost of the deductible with the price of the policy, you are still covered well for potential emergencies. You do not want to pay so much for the policy and the deductible that you will not have any insurance benefit for potential emergencies. Read all of the fine print carefully on your insurance policy, so you know exactly what the deductibles will be. More Glossary Terms Explained here |
