Benefits
The benefit is the amount that is payable to the insured if a claim is made on a travel insurance policy.
If the insured person is injured under the guidelines of the policy, the benefits are paid directly to the insured. If loss of property or trip cancellation is covered under the trip insurance plan, the benefits are also paid directly to the insured. If, however, the insured is killed during travel, the benefits are paid to the beneficiaries of the account. When shopping for travel insurance, make sure that the benefits on the policy are sufficient. You want them to cover the costs of any medical expenses you might attain if there is an accident while you are traveling. Also, if you are purchasing death benefits, make sure that there is enough coverage to take care of those left behind. The benefits are the main thing you are shopping for when buying trip insurance!
