Application Fee
Application fee is the amount of money that is charged to you when you apply for a travel insurance plan. It is basically the amount of money that you have to pay before you begin the process of applying for a travel insurance plan. This amount will vary with the type of insurance company. It is generally a nominal amount and does not have to be very expensive
The fee is basically charged for the application form papers, the cost of the paperwork, i.e. processing of documents and other sundry small expenses. This fee should be remitted by you at the time you are handing in the application. You will receive a receipt stating that you have paid the fee. The application fee varies from one company to another. Some charge quite a hefty amount, others charge a mere pittance. Generally the application fee for travel insurance is more than for other types of insurance. The reason is the risks involved are more and also because travel insurance is generally taken by a class of people who are considered affluent.
